The Shimane Susanoo Magic, whose home town is Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, was founded in 2010 and is currently active in the B1 League West Division.
The team has 14 players, including Ando Chika, the team's ace and captain, and Nick Kaye, a current Australian national team player who will also compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics and who will serve as co-captain this season.
They are thrilling many fans at their home arena, Matsue City General Gymnasium!
This time, we will introduce the cheering goods sold at the "SHIMANE SUSANOO MAGIC SUB STORE" in PREMIUM BANDAI, as well as the local atmosphere and interviews with the athletes.
PREMIUM BANDAI official navigator Premi and apprentice navigator Pibit will guide you through the charms of Shimane Susanoo Magic!
We will tell you about its charms in two parts, the first and second parts!!
Premi:This time, we interviewed Shimane Susanoo Magic captains Ando Chika and Nick Kay!
First, we will talk to point guard Ando Chika, who wears the number 3 and shows off his passionate play!
Player: Seiya Ando: My name is Ando Chika and I play for the Shimane Susanoo Magic.
His specialties are three-point shots and drives, and he is good at speeding up the game.
Premi: Nice to meet you! First of all, please tell us about the atmosphere in the team this season.
Ando: We have a lot of members who are what you would call "extroverts," and I think the fact that we're brighter than usual is what makes us stronger.
Premi: Are there any goods that your fans would be interested in or happy to have?
Ando: The towels look pretty good, and have your name and photo on them, so they're easy for fans to buy and carry, and I think that's the classic approach. It's nice to find a towel with your name on it in the stands.
Also, the baseball shirt is cool.

Premi: What are the highlights when watching a game, and what should first-time viewers pay attention to?
Ando:For people watching for the first time, the movements of the athletes look delicate and the action is faster than expected, so I think it's best to experience it for yourself. The changes in offense and defense happen faster than in other sports, so it may be busy at first, but I think you'll enjoy it.
PremiWe are now in the second half of the season. What are your aspirations for the future?
Ando: I'm not really the type to set goals. I've always played basketball with the sole desire to get better.
My goal going forward is to have fun and see how far I can go.
I want to keep looking forward, without setting too high a ceiling, and have high hopes for how far I can go.
Premi:Finally, please give a message to all PREMIUM BANDAI users!
Ando: When I say that our team is owned by Bandai Namco, a lot of people say that's amazing.
We are well-known in Shimane, but we are also very proud to be supported by a world-famous company.
That's why I want to revitalize the team and Shimane, and liven up the city. I want to do my best together with those who are watching for the first time, so please come and visit Shimane.
Premi:Thank you, Ando-san!!
PremiNext up we'll be talking to Nick Kaye, wearing the number 4 jersey. He's always calm and collected, the pillar of the team, and is known for his powerful shots when the team is in trouble!
Nick: My name is Nick Kay. I'm from Australia and I've been living in Shimane for four years now.
I have known about PREMIUM BANDAI for some time and have bought some One Piece collectible figures from them before.
Premi:Thank you so much!! I'm very happy!!
First of all, please tell us about the atmosphere of the Shimane Susanoo Magic team.
Nick: It's a very good team, and I think they have built a good relationship not only during games and practice, but also off the court.
There are no barriers between foreigners, Japanese, young people and veterans, and we all trust each other.
There is good energy within the team, and everyone works hard but is also able to have fun conversations.
It is because we are able to share the same joy that we have had a good season this year, and I hope to continue fighting together in the future.
Premi: Are there any goods that your fans would be interested in or happy to have?
Nick: Shimane Susanoo Magic sells a variety of products, and when I walk around town it's nice to see fans showing me bags with their own merchandise attached.
My wife and kids also have stickers, photos and other merchandise, and we enjoy it as a family. I always play the megaphone at home. Lol
▲ Badges and key chains featuring SD illustrations are also on sale!
Premi: What are the highlights when watching a game, and what should first-time viewers pay attention to?
Nick: I would like you to pay attention to the intensity of our play, our ball movement, and the way we play as a team.
I think you'll enjoy watching how the team members pass the ball around and help each other out during the game.
Premi:Finally, please give a message to all PREMIUM BANDAI users!
Nick: Shimane Susanoo Magic is a small community, but we want to move forward as a representative of the land of Shimane through our play.
We would like to show our basketball to basketball fans all over the country.
I hope to continue to perform well and gain more fans. I'll do my best representing the Japanese basketball world!
PremiThank you, Nick!
PremiDuring my visit to Shimane Prefecture this time and watching a Shimane Susanoo Magic game and listening to the players, fans, and staff, everyone said that what they think is the appeal of the Shimane Susanoo Magic is the sense of unity as a professional basketball team representing Shimane Prefecture.
I thought the megaphone clapping and cheers that echoed from the stands dyed Susanoo blue were a charm that other clubs don't have!
Mr. Kato, who oversees the entire operation of the venue, spoke about the appeal of the Shimane Susanoo Magic, saying that as the only professional team in Shimane Prefecture, expectations are high and more than 4,000 fans gather at home games.
We want to be conscious of creating an extraordinary space, and let people experience it. A sense of unity in cheering and shouting out loud.
This is an appeal that other teams don't have, and they work with an awareness of how to create a sense of unity in the venue.
The production during the game is also conscious of using Japanese sounds and fostering the local pride of the people of Shimane Prefecture, and is conscious of creating a ``Shimane-like'' and ``local-oriented production'' that will make spectators and fans love Shimane even more.
Some fans also expressed pride that Shimane Prefecture provides them with the opportunity to see professional players up close.
We were told that because there are few places where a large number of people can gather and support the team, it has become a place for the people of Shimane to interact with each other, where they can become friends with the person sitting next to them or make new friends through Susamaji, and that the charm of Shimane Susanoo Magic is that it is a place where the people of Shimane can interact and come together.
Premi: We look forward to seeing more of the Shimane Susanoo Magic, who are loved by the people of Shimane Prefecture and continue to grow in strength!
In addition to the goods introduced this time, the "SHIMANE SUSANOO MAGIC OFFICIAL GOODS SUB STORE" within PREMIUM BANDAI is currently selling a variety of "Shimane Susanoo Magic" goods!
