Real Figure Category

Revible Moment: King of Sculpture -Memories of Foosha Village-

Challenger
Sculptor profile
Born in April 1983. Has been a sculptor for 13 years, initially focusing on monster figures.
The distribution is basically male characters, with the occasional female character or monster.

This time, I decided to leave the "cool, intense" style that I had been creating up until now behind and take on the challenge of something completely opposite, the stage of Zoukei-oh. It's a lot of fun to see what I can do with the limited amount of information to begin with.
I would like to capture not only movement but also stillness, and I would like to continue to strive in various ways as a way of developing myself.

Interview INTERVIEW

Revible Moment

This is the first figurine in the world to capture the moment when Luffy sees Ace and Makino and interrupts them, showing the relationship between them! We hope you will enjoy the appeal of this scene-recreating figurine.

Revive Moment
Planning and Development: Yoshinori Moriyama & Shunsuke Tachikawa (previous)
Sculptor: Tatsuya Furuichi

Q. Who are the members of the Revible Moment team?
Tachikawa
I am in charge of the development of Revible Moment, and this time I am taking on the One Piece Modeling King Summit Battle together with sculptor Furuichi. Moriyama took over midway through the project, so I hope that the three of us will be interviewed together this time. Moriyama is like a mentor to me, teaching me the know-how when I was first assigned to the Roto Division, so I feel relieved that I have been able to hand it over to him.
Q. Please tell us about the brand you are participating in.
Moriyama
"Revible Moment" is a brand based on the concept of figures that can be enjoyed in 360 degrees by cutting out emotional and heartwarming scenes from "ONE PIECE". It is being developed as a prize for "Ichiban Lottery ONE PIECE Emotional Stories".
Q. Please tell us why you decided to team up with Furuichi this time.
Tachikawa
I was in charge of starting up the development, and first I consulted with the sculptor Plus Alpha, who recommended Furuichi-san. The "Ichiban Kuji" New Four Emperors version of Shanks that Furuichi-san created has been very well received on social media, with people saying, "He's so handsome!"
Q. Please tell us how excited you were when your participation was decided.
Furuichi
Of course, I knew about the ONE PIECE Zokeiou Summit Battle, but I'm the type of person who gets nervous when I see what's going on around me. So, to be honest, I didn't actively follow the information. It was my first time to participate in an event where I competed with other sculptors, so I was surprised when I heard about it. However, I still wanted to take on the challenge.
Revible Moment
Q. Why did you choose the characters and scenes you created?
Tachikawa
I chose the scene where a young Ace practices greeting Makino together with Luffy. I think this is a scene that shows the relationship between Ace, Luffy's older brother, Makino, who is like an older sister to the two, and Luffy, who sees Ace and Makino and interrupts them. Makino has only ever been made into a three-dimensional figure in the deformed "World Collectable Figure" series up until now, and this is her first time being made into a realistic figure. I'm sure there are many people who want a Makino figure, and as a "ONE PIECE" fan myself, I really wanted to use this scene.
Q. What were your thoughts when the characters and scenes were decided?
Furuichi
I have created ONE PIECE figures for the Ichiban Kuji lottery before, but they were all really cool. I thought it was a challenge to see how many scenes I could create that would warm my heart.
Q. What kind of conversations did you have as you progressed with this production?
Tachikawa
In the early stages, I sent illustrations for the figures to Furuichi and he started working on it, but it was difficult to get the three characters' gazes to line up, and it was difficult to get the relative positions of the characters in a three-dimensional form. During the middle stages, we checked the original frames and the anime scenes with each other several times, and we searched for a balance that felt right for both the figures and the scene. Since it was a fairly short scene, there wasn't much information to refer to, so I think he had to use his imagination quite a bit.
Furuichi
I felt that if I proceeded with the production based on the illustration for the figure, it would end up being a bit safe. But I thought that it wouldn't fit the concept of ONE PIECE Zoukeiou Chojo Kessen, and I was a bit uneasy. I think I was able to get over it by facing the scene with Tachikawa-san many times along the way.
Q. What are the characteristics and artistic qualities of a sculptor?
Tachikawa
Despite the time and trouble of changing the concept mid-production, it was very impressive that they were able to understand our goal and make the necessary revisions to fit our image.
Moriyama
As a sculptor, Furuichi has worked on many cool figures and monster-type figures up until now. However, this time he is challenging himself with a heartwarming piece, and it's amazing how he has been able to achieve such a range.
Revible Moment
Q. Please tell us your honest thoughts about the current state of the product.
Tachikawa
The digital prototype is well underway, and test printing will begin soon. The prototype is very cute, so I'm looking forward to seeing it printed.
Moriyama
When making a figurine of this scene where the three of them face each other, it is difficult to balance the element of "recreating the scene" by matching the impression of their line of sight, direction, and relative positions, with the element of "making the figurine look good" by making the faces and shapes look good and balancing the space. From here, we have to adjust how to show that.
Furuichi
We are still working on the details, such as the straw hat worn by Luffy and the wooden box that Makino sits on. As a piece to participate in the One Piece Zoukeiou Summit Battle, we will continue to explore the details and other elements that can be improved so that it does not end up looking like the same as previous works if made in the normal way.
Q. Please tell us the points you are particular about.
Furuichi
While referring to the original manga and anime, I'm also considering the balance of the amount of detail to be added to the figures. Since Luffy and Ace as children have soft forms, simply adding more detail with wrinkles in their clothes would make them look nauseous. I'm also working hard to recreate the attractive proportions of the characters that are unique to "ONE PIECE". Ever since I was creating monster-related works, I've always been conscious of trying to make the flow and lines of the body look beautiful, so I hope I can create beautiful curves in this work as well.
Q. Is there anyone or rival you particularly don't want to lose to in this final showdown?
Moriyama
I don't want to lose to Akihiro Miyoshi, who is now in the Prize Division and was once in charge of "ONE PIECE" with me in the Lotto Division. This time, he is competing in "KING OF ARTIST", "THE GRANDLINE series", and "World Collectable Figure". In particular, I heard that "THE GRANDLINE series" is in the same realistic category and is a heartwarming one, so I won't lose!
Tachikawa
Many sculptors from the Kansai region are affiliated with Furuichi's partner company, Plus Alpha, but the ONE PIECE Zokeiou Summit Battle will not only involve sculptors from Kanto and Kansai, but will also involve sculptors from Fukuoka and Okinawa, so it's interesting to think of sculptors from all over Japan competing.
Furuichi
Personally, I try not to think too much about rivals...!
Revible Moment
Q: Any final message?
Moriyama
I have been watching the One Piece Zoukeiou Summit Battle from the sidelines since it was launched by Norihiko Sakata of the Prize Division about 10 years ago when I joined the company. Thanks to this competition, the number of excellent sculptors has increased, and as someone who has seen sculptors inspire each other, I am very happy to be able to participate this time. I would like to achieve good results as the "Ichiban Kuji" division.
Tachikawa
The greeting practice scene with Makino, Ace, and Luffy is a project I've been working on since the start of "Revible Moment," so I'm really happy that it has come to fruition. This is a scene that hasn't been made into a three-dimensional figure yet, including overseas, so it's the first time it's been made into a figurine in the world, so I'm looking forward to seeing the reactions from fans.
Furuichi
I will do my best to meet the expectations of the developers and customers!
