Introduction of identity authentication service (3D Secure)

• ・Premium Bandai now accepts 3D Secure registered credit cards for payment. Please make use of this system to protect you from fraudulent card use. (From August 31st)
• ・3D Secure is now required when charging Premium Pay with a credit card (as of August 31st).

What is the identity authentication service (3D Secure)?

The identity authentication service (3D Secure) is a service that authenticates the identity of cardholders by having customers enter a password that they have registered with the card issuer in addition to information such as their credit card number and expiration date at the time of payment, in order to make online credit card payments safer.

Supported services

The identity authentication service is supported by four card brands: VISA, MasterCard, JCB, and AMEX.

Q.What is the procedure for credit card payment with 3D Secure?

• Step 1

  PREMIUM BANDAI

  Once you have decided on the product you want to purchase, select credit card as your payment method and follow the instructions.

  Enter your credit card information and proceed.

  3D Secure authentication page

  The website of your card issuer will be displayed, where you will need to enter the password you registered in advance and perform 3D Secure authentication.

• Step 4

  3D Secure Authentication

  If the entered password is not the same as the one registered in advance, authentication will fail. (*)

• Step 5

  Payment result display page

  Only if 3D Secure authentication is successful will you be able to make a credit card payment and you will be notified of the payment result.

• *If you enter an incorrect password more times than the allowed number of times, authentication will fail and we will not be able to accept your credit card payment.

Q. Does the identity authentication service cost money?

The identity authentication service is free of charge. Please apply through the website of each credit card company.

Q: The card I'm using doesn't support 3D Secure.

It is no longer possible to charge Premium BanPay with cards that do not support 3D Secure. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please consider using another payment method.
For the time being, Premium Bandai's traditional credit card payments will still be accepted, but for your safety, we recommend that you switch to a 3D Secure-compatible card as soon as possible.
