This miniature glass product is a collaboration between the sword warriors MIKAZUKI MUNECHIKA, Kashuu Kiyomitsu, and Tsurumaru Kuninaga who appear in the PC browser and smartphone app game "Touken Ranbu-ONLINE-", the Edo Kiriko Cooperative, which has many artisans certified as traditional craftsmen, and Kagami Crystal, Japan's first crystal glass manufacturer.
The crystal glass base is manufactured by Kagami Crystal using Japan's highest level glass molding technology. The colors of each character - lapis lazuli (MIKAZUKI MUNECHIKA), golden red (Kashuu Kiyomitsu), and clear (Tsurumaru Kuninaga) - and the transparency of the glass create an elegant atmosphere. The side of the glass is based on the famous Edo Kiriko pattern, the Asanoha pattern, which is believed to ward off evil, and is designed to resemble a sword flash (the flash that appears when a sword is swung). It was cut by hand by a traditional craftsman belonging to the Edo Kiriko Cooperative Association, to express brilliance and strength. The crest of each Touken Danshi has also been sandblasted into the bottom. In addition, actual product samples will be on display from 11am on Tuesday, August 29th to Thursday, September 14th, 2017 in the exhibition space on the first floor of Kameido Umeyashiki, where the Edo Kiriko Cooperative Association's showroom is also located.
