The collaboration project "Godzilla vs. Evangelion" was initiated when Hideaki Anno, the creator of the anime "Evangelion," served as general director of the latest film in Godzilla Series, "Shin Godzilla" (released July 29, 2016).
Based on the original concept of "What if 'G Cells' were injected into Evangelion?", this project has produced a three-dimensional figure of "Evangelion Unit-02", which will be released in a big size measuring approximately 36cm in length, following the first release, "EVANGELION 01 TEST TYPE 'G' Awakened Form". This product combines Godzilla with Unit 2's "Beast Mode," the second beast-like form that appeared in the 2009 film "The Movie: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance." With its limiter removed, Unit 2 takes on a beast-like form, and Godzilla elements are added throughout, such as the rock-like skin that covers its entire body, a large dorsal fin, and a long tail that extends from the body. The coloring reproduces the red and white theme colors of Unit 2. Befitting the fusion of "Beast Mode," in which Godzilla transforms into a beast and engages in wild combat, and Godzilla the "KING OF MONS," it is three-dimensionalized in a threatening pose, standing on all fours with its mouth wide open and glaring at its opponent. By displaying it alongside the "EVANGELION 01 TEST TYPE "G" Awakened Form," which is currently available for pre-order, you can enjoy the overwhelming presence of this original Evangelion form that could only be realized through this collaboration project.
